Leaving before it finishes or disconnecting will not earn you a drop. You don't have to win a match to get a drop, you just need to have played through the whole match. After a match is finished, participants can earn a chest containing a dice from the currently active collection. Chests can also be traded or purchased/sold through the Steam Marketplace. To get dice from the current active collection, you must first obtain a chest earned from participating in public online multiplayer matches.
